Wellies and Wellness at the Ploughing Championships

Free hand massages, demos on homemade creams, wellness advice, art and more at Kilkenny Shop’s wellness stand

Kilkenny Shop’s wellness stand at the 2017 Ploughing Championships is well worth a visit.

Those working in the agricultural sector already have an appreciation for the natural world, but in such a demanding job, self care can sometimes take a back seat.

Founder of holistic beauty brand Yogandha, Sinead Duffy, will give free hand massages at Kilkenny’s stand on Tuesday 19th. Irish Designer Jo Browne will be there for the 3 days, showcasing an exciting new product, and Claire Gardiner, creator of Dublin Herbalist, will give demonstrations on how to make homemade face and hand-creams on Wednesday 20th. Irish artist Francis Leavey from Fab Cow is also attending the Kilkenny stand for the duration of the event, and Thursday 21st he will create a 3D art piece with the help of attendees.

Kilkenny will promote stress reducing habits to aid relaxation and wellness throughout the week, and they will also showcase their new selection of wellness products, which are all made from natural ingredients. The skin is now seen as a second stomach and there is a move away from conventional beauty products that contain harmful chemicals and additives to more natural products, which Kilkenny Shop is tapping into.

From uncluttering a muddled mind to taking care of skin that battles the elements everyday, there’s a product for everyone – so make sure you drop by to check out the range, which includes bath, skincare and aromatherapy remedies from Savon Stories, natural solid perfume with organic beeswax from Jo Browne, skincare and beauty products harnessing the therapeutic properties of organic wild seaweed from Voya, nourishing and natural hand created skincare products by Dublin Herbalists, seaweed and essential oil based beauty products from Green Angel and relaxing wellbeing oils from Yogandha, many of which are sourced and handmade in Ireland.

Kilkenny is home to Ireland’s largest collection of Irish designers, and the company has been synonymous with promoting the finest in Irish design for over 50 years. Kilkenny currently has 15 stores nationwide. Or visit www.kilkennyshop.com/wellness and receive free shipping on orders over €49.

The Central Bank of Ireland is back at the Ploughing Championships for 2017!

This year’s exhibition showcases the iconic notes and coins of Ireland since independence. Visitors can learn about the Central Bank and win prizes by spinning the wheel, lifting an exact replica of a gold-bar to guess its weight or taking a selfie with €500,000 in shredded banknotes. The exhibition will explain how euro coins are minted and describe the process of developing a euro banknote. The exhibition is designed to show how the euro in your pocket supports commerce.

Experts will be on hand to answer questions about the exhibition and we will have Media Relations Officers on site on Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss the exhibition and the new Central Bank Visitor Centre and Archives, which opened to the public last month.
