SPEARHEAD IRELAND SHOWCASES TWIGA MID SERIES AT THE NATIONAL PLOUGHING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016

2016 will see Spearhead Machinery Ltd exhibiting at the National Ploughing Championships alongside its newly created Irish Dealer Network, Spearhead Ireland.

With an ever increasing network of dealers across the country who are revving up to support the product range, Spearhead will be showcasing a number of reach, rotary and flail mowers- including several models within the Twiga Mid series – to whet the appetite of the Ploughing Championship visitor.

TWIGA MID SERIES

Combining many years of hedgecutter design with the latest technology, Spearhead’s best-selling, Twiga Mid series reach mower provides exceptional performance, reliability, durability and ease of operation.

Power is delivered by a potent 75hp fully independent hydraulic system favoured by the most demanding of cutting professionals.

The machine is available with sideways reach options of 5.5, 6.0, 6.5 and 7.0 metres with rear mounting as standard. The 5.5 and 6.0 metre options can be delivered with a forward reach arm set for improved visibility, whilst the 6.5 and 7.0 metre versions are both telescopic as standard.

Presented with the possibility to be fitted with a multitude of attachments and available with a quick attach coupling system for ease of exchange the Twiga Mid series is action packed with power and performance.

A choice of Precision Proportional, Multipilot and Propilot controls give a huge choice of operating systems which allow fingertip action of the arm and head movements to deliver precise control and exemplary operator comfort throughout the working day.

Parallel arm action is fitted as standard and makes the Twiga Mid series simple to use as the arm geometry maintains the same cutting head angle as it moves in and out.

Safety protection is offered in the form of a hydraulic break out ram which when activated lifts the cutting head clear of obstructions and automatically returns it once the obstruction has been cleared.

Designed for large scale farmers, contractors and local authorities – the Twiga Mid range offers, a host of customisation options, Spearhead’s most advanced control systems and long term output, robustness and durability time honed and proven in conditions around the world.

MULTICUT 300

Alongside the Twiga Reach Mowers will be the ever popular Multicut 300, Spearhead’s market leading rotary topper which is of extremely robust construction and designed specifically for the rigorous conditions of set a side, general mowing, scrub, gorse and rush clearance.

Featuring twin rotors with massive double blade holders and beastly 13mm thick spring steel blades, the Mulitcut 300 is capable of cutting and mulching material up to 80mm thick.

Shaft driven throughout, the machine is especially suited to continuous and rigorous use where less substantial machines fail.

HC 130 AND HC160 ROTARY HEAD

Spearhead will also present a new concept in hedgecutting during the show, the new HC130 and HC160 rotary heads.

Suitable for cutting and shredding hedges, the machines deliver improved cutting results, less debris and improved efficiency for professional operators.

Featuring a blade system consisting of 18 special hardened blades mounted on three rotors the machine delivers an exemplary finish in material up to 40mm thick.

The show takes place from the 20th – 22nd September in Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly and will feature Spearheads strongest presence yet.

MF Range at National Ploughing Championships 2016

Massey Ferguson’s team is looking forward to meeting friends and customers, old and new at this year’s big event at Screggan, bringing a range of new and updated machinery that’s sure to generate interest.

None more so than the all-new MF 4700 Series range of tractors – the first to have been developed in recent times specifically for the highly-demanding, multi-purpose 75-95hp sector of the market.

Now available as a result of using the latest computer-aided design and manufacturing techniques, MF 4700 Series tractors offer the most up-to-date equipment and specification in their class – including an all-new cab, engine, transmission and drive-line technology.

There are three models in this new Series – the MF 4707 (75hp), the MF 4708 (85hp) and the MF 4709 (95hp). All have AGCO Power 3.3-litre, 3-cylinder engines that combine high power and torque with exceptional fuel economy, while the 82-litre capacity fuel tank will allow these tractors to keep working for 8-10 hours at a time.

Moving up the horsepower scale, the MF 5700SL represents a new breed of tractor in the all-important and highly-competitive 100-130hp bracket. It marries the compact dimensions demanded by livestock and mixed farming businesses with the power and performance to cope effortlessly with the demands of arable applications.

Massey Ferguson’s Colin Gleeson says: “The MF 5713 will be making its first public appearance in Ireland, replacing the MF 5612 and 5613 models which have been popular on livestock and dairy farm as tractor/loader combinations.”

The four models in the MF 5700SL range have a 2.55m wheelbase and weigh just 4.8 tonnes. They are worthy successors to the MF 5600 Series, combining an ideal power-to-weight ratio with great manoeuvrability.

Winner of the Tractor of the Year for 2016 in the Best Utility category at Germany’s Agritechnica Show and Technical Innovation Award at the Royal Highland Show earlier this year, the MF 5700SL is available in three versions – Essential, Efficient and Exclusive.

Ploughing Championships visitors will also be able to view Massey Ferguson’s new range of hay and forage equipment, including five mounted disc mowers, from 2m to 4m working widths, two 3m and 4m wide semi-mounted mower conditioners and a heavy-duty trailed mower conditioner. Also on display will be three centre-drawbar, trailed mower conditioners and two butterfly-folding mowers with widths of 8.3 and 9.3 metres.

“The new MF range of mowers , tedders and rakes has been been very well received in this, its first season in Ireland,” Colin Gleeson reports.

A popular attraction on the Massey Ferguson stand is likely to be a black version of the brand’s flagship tractor – the MF 8737 – which, together with the world-famous TE-20, will be marking 70 years since the first black tractor came down the company’s factory production line.

However, with most cereal crops now safely in store, there will be some visitors who are conceding that their combine really does need replacing. In which case, they are advised to have a close look at the MF Activa model on show at Screggan.

Designed with the smaller- to medium-sized grower in mind, there are two MF Activa models: 176hp or 218hp. Each greets the standing crop with the proven FreeFlow cutting table, with optional AutoLevel for those on undulating land, and features 3-speed transmission and a high-inertia cylinder.

And an example of the latest MF 2270 tandem cutter large square baler will not be far away.

So, come along to the Massey Ferguson stand, Block 3, Row 15, Stand No. 343 at the National Ploughing Championships and have a chat with Colin Gleeson or one of his team.
