SlurryKat launches new lightweight, wider, Farmline trailing shoes

BOOSTED by the success of its entry level 7.5m Farmline Trailing Shoe, slurry equipment specialist SlurryKat has launched wider models up to 10.5m ahead of the National Ploughing Championships in County Laois.
And, staying with all the core SlurryKat manufacturing principles, these new models are also built to be strong with the best steel, yet staying lightweight to reduce soil compaction.
Garth Cairns, SlurryKat Innovator and CEO, said: “We launched the 7.5m Farmline Trailing Shoe in 2018 and it has been a huge success.
“However, as slurry tankers have become larger and more grants have become available to help farmers purchase specialist equipment, we have experienced huge demand for wider models.”
The new wider models, 9m and 10.5m, incorporate many of the features of the previous models, including the lightweight design, but also some new upgrades.
Lightest trailing shoe on the market
Garth added: “These are the lightest trailing shoes on the market. While the 7.5m model weighed in at 490kgs, the new 9m model is 600kgs and the 10.5m model is 636kgs. Both the 9m and the 10.5m models exhibit unique inverted booms in the transport position.
“The extra width for the new models was achieved by adding a novel flip-over end section on the sidearms, which is operated by a hydraulic cylinder. This is easy and straightforward for the operator to use.
“The transport height, which is the lowest on the market, on the new wider models stays the same as with the 7.5m model. Also, they now have flip-up shoes on the beam with hydraulic cylinder as standard, which was not a feature on the 7.5m model.

Easier Headland Turns

“With flip-up shoes on the central and outer sections, this makes it easier for the operator to make headland turns. Also, the machine does not need to be folded up to reverse, all the operator has to do is flip up the shoes, carry out the manoeuvre, then drop the shoes and work away,” he said.
The new Farmline models use the SlurryKat ventilated macerator distributor head with a V36 head on the 9m model and a V42 head on the 10.5m version. This unique system delivers equal slurry distribution from every shoe along the boom which competitor products can’t deliver.
Other upgrades include a crash protection system on the boom as standard, using a shear bolt rather than a spring release system which is troublesome when the machine ages.
Spacing of the shoes on the new models is the SlurryKat standard 250mm, which is proven to be the optimum width for the uptake of the nutrients in the slurry by the crop.
All models are fully galvanised and fitted with new Italian manufactured UV resistant flexible hoses which gives longevity to the machines.
Reduce Soil Compaction
SlurryKat says its main focus with the new Farmline Trailing Shoes was to keep the machines lightweight, which is an advantage working in all soil conditions.
These new Farmline Trailing Shoes work in conjunction with SlurryKat’s highly successful Premium Plus™ range, which is also undergoing some updates. The new Farmline models are not replacing any of the Premium Plus™ range but are an addition to the range offered.

Keeping You Safe – Child Safety Wristband Project

The Ploughing and FBD: Keeping You Safe child safety wristband project will be an important feature again at this year’s National Ploughing Championships, which will take place in Raheniska, Co Laois on September 19th, 20th & 21st.  Over 40,000 of the safety wristbands will be handed-out at all of the event entrances, which will allow for a contact phone number to be written on the band in case the wearer wanders off amidst the large gathering.

NPA Managing Director Anna May McHugh said “We are delighted to be partnering up with FBD again on this excellent safety concept as all can now rest assured that loved ones will be returned safely in case they wander away in the crowds that attend Ploughing.  With up to 300,000 visitors expected over the course of the 3 days these wristbands give reassurance and great peace-of-mind to all attending the event and add immensely to visitor experience.

A day at Ploughing is a brilliant family day with something of interest for all ages & tastes and children are particularly well catered for with a Playground, Baby Changing Areas, Fun Fair, Pony Games, Sporting Heroes, TV Stars, Sweet & Toy Stands and much more,” she added.

FBD CEO Tomás O’Midheach said “Everyone at FBD Insurance is delighted to return and support Ploughing this year.  We are especially pleased to continue our support for the wristband child safety initiative. New Bobcat Products Make Debut at Ploughing Show

Adare Machinery, the Limerick-based Authorised Bobcat Dealer for Ireland, will have the company’s largest ever stand at this year’s National Ploughing Championships, being held at Ratheniska in County Laois in Ireland from 19-21 September 2023. Now in its 92nd year, the National Ploughing Championships is the largest event of its type in the world. and Adare will have the biggest display of Bobcat equipment ever, with several products make their debut at the show.

William Cuddy, Sales Manager at Adare Machinery, said: “We are very proud to be representatives for the Bobcat brand at this year’s Ploughing Show. We are hoping for a very strong turnout to see our biggest ever stand and the widest array of Bobcat products we have ever shown at the National Ploughing Championships, including their maket-leading mini-excavators, compact loaders and telehandlers.”

New Compact Tractors

Among the new Bobcat products being shown for the first time at the show is the new Bobcat range of compact tractors. Adare is presenting the new CT2035 and CT2535 models, two of the nine models across the three platforms in the range – the 1000, 2000 and 4000 series. Bobcat compact tractors are part of the ground maintenance equipment (GME) range announced by Bobcat last October, which includes mowers and turf equipment, as well as Bobcat’s existing mini track and small articulated loaders.

New Super Compact Telehandler

Also making its debut at the Ploughing Show is Bobcat’s new Super Compact TL25.60 telehandler, the latest addition to the company’s next generation R-Series range of products. As the smallest machine in the range, the new TL25.60 brings the number of rigid frame telehandlers from Bobcat for construction, rental and general handling to 11 models. Also available as an agricultural version, the TL25.60 also extends Bobcat’s telehandler range for the farming market to eight models.

Most Powerful Compact Track Loader from Bobcat

Delivering a higher engine and hydraulic output, Adare is premiering the new T86 at the Ploughing Show, the most powerful compact track loader Bobcat has ever built. The T86 uses a well-proven Stage V compliant 3.4 l Bobcat engine – producing 78 kW (105 HP) at 2600 RPM.

One of the most exciting aspects of the T86 is that for the first time, there is a choice of three different auxiliary flow outputs.

There is a standard flow configuration providing 87 l/min for applications such as load and carry, or where low hydraulic flow attachments are used. Bobcat also offers two additional hydraulic performance functions using the new Electronic Displacement Control (EDC) Pump: a High Flow function giving 138 l/min and a new, industry unique Super Flow function taking auxiliary flow to 159 l/min. This makes the T86 ideally suited for high-intensity applications such as road construction and forestry work.

First Showing of L28 Small Articulated Loader

Completing the line-up of Bobcat debutants at the Ploughing Show is the L28 small articulated loader (SAL), one of two SALs offering high lift capacities in confined spaces, ease-of-use with simple intuitive controls and low ground disturbance for working on any terrain. The new SALs continue Bobcat’s expansion in the compact wheel loader market and confirm that the company now has the largest loader portfolio of any manufacturer in the world.

The high lift capacities compared to machine weight are ideal for heavy lift and carry operations in confined areas. The extendable boom on the L28 provides more options for easy placement of loads and counterweight options allow the user to customize the capacity to the application.

Award-winning Family-run Dealership
